Free knitting pattern: EMIKO S SWEATER AND SKIRT

MATERIAL :

·         4 mm needles

·         3.5mm needles

·         Two different color balls of yarn for the sweater

·         Yarn weight:

o   light worsted for the sweater

o   fingering for the skirt

TENSION : not important

ABBREVIATION :

·         K : knit

·         K2tog: knit 2 together

·         P: purl

·         P2tog: purl 2 together

·         St(s): stitch(es)

·         St st: stockinette stitch

·         R: row

INSTRUCTION:

SWEATER:

Back:

·         Cast on 32 sts on 3.5 mm needles

·         Work in 2x2 rib for 5rows but decrease the last row by k2tog the last 2 sts = 31sts

·         Work in st st on 4mm needles for 14 rows

·         Cast off 3sts of the next 2rows = 25sts

·         Work in st st for 12 rows

·         Cast off

Front: ( colorwork )

·         Cast on 32 sts on 3.5 mm needles

·         Work in 2x2 rib for 5rows but decrease the last row by k2tog the last 2 sts = 31sts

·         K3, follow diagram 4 times, k3 on 4mm needles for 14 rows

·         Cast off 3sts of the next 2rows = 25sts

·         Work in st st for 11 rows, cast off 9sts in the middle

·         Knit 1 row and cast off

Sleeve (make 2)

·         Cast on 28 sts on 3.5 mm needles

·         Work in 2x2 rib for 5rows

·         Work in st st on 4mm needles for 20 rows

Assemble the sweater

Note: Do not sew shoulder!

SKIRT:

·         Cast 100 sts on 3.5mm needles

·         Work in 5x5 rib for 4rows

·         R5: decrease every purl sts by p2tog = 90 sts

·         R9: decrease every purl sts by p2tog = 80 sts

·         R13: decrease every purl sts by p2tog = 70 sts

·         R17: decrease every purl sts by p2tog = 60 sts

·         R21: (k4, k2tog) = 50 sts

·         Work in st st for 4 rows

·         Cast off

·         Sew back seam
