Free pattern: Bloom headband

MATERIALS: 

• yarn
• 4mm needles for the headband
• 5 and 3.5 mm needles for the rose

ABBREVIATIONS:

• K: knit
• K2t: knit 2 together
• P: purl
• Sts: stitches

INSTRUCTIONS:

Headband:

• Cast on 8sts
• Row1: k
• Row2: k1, p1
• Repeat row 1 and 2 until piece measures 51cm
• Bind off
• Sew the ends together

Rose:

• Cast on 193sts with 5mm needles
• Row1: k1, *k2, lift 1st of these two over second*
• Row2: k2t
• Now use 3.5 needles
• Row3 and 5: k
• Row 4 and 6: p
• Row 7: k1, k2t

Break off yarn and thread through rem sts and pull together. Twist ruffle around into a flower shape and secure using yarn still attached.
